Mumbai: On the eve of International Women’s Day, Bollywood actresses Madhuri Dixit and Neena Gupta shared their thoughts on the changing landscape of Indian content with respect to female actors and how this change can bring about a more inclusive space.

Neena Gupta said, the development of the entertainment sector is happening in perfect sync with the changing society. Places of entertainment have evolved with our growth as a society. Women are now earning, leading businesses and teams and playing a central role in every aspect of life, they are not just dependent on men, but stand on their own.

On the occasion of Stree-Ming, the women’s day program of streaming platform Netflix, she further said, “I get to see many stories every day, which are good. In these, the lives of incredible women are seen. It seems, we are not just part of the story, but we are the story itself.

He said that Indian ingredients have changed a lot in the last few decades. Women are no longer based solely on beautiful faces in movies or audio-visual material. Instead their ability to make powerful performances is also shown.

Expressing her opinion Madhuri Dixit said, “The development has happened and happened in a tremendous way. Women are no longer just beautiful faces or avenging angels. Today women are seen in different forms- be it mathematicians or sportsmen or housewives with unfulfilled aspirations, women are playing different roles every day and it is fascinating to see this change in the industry.
