Los Angeles: A psychologist told journalists that actress Amber Heard was suffering from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) due to physical and sexual abuse at the hands of ex-husband and Hollywood star Johnny Depp.

Don Hughes testified Tuesday that he had diagnosed Heard after 29 hours of examining him and reviewing medical records, and that he had concluded that Depp had committed a high level of violence.

Hughes cited several instances of alleged sexual violence, saying Depp had displayed obsessive jealousy and dominance.

Hughes was the first witness called by Heard’s lawyers.

Hughes testified that while Mr. Depp was intoxicated, he tried to forcefully have sex with Heard.

Hughes also mentioned incidents in which Depp tried to have unnatural sex with Hard.

He said these incidents often happened after Depp had taken the drug.

Heard’s lawyers called for an independent mental exam for Depp. Depp’s lawyers opposed that motion, arguing that Depp’s mental state was not a problem. The judge rejected the motion.
