Mumbai: Actress Kangana Ranaut, who will be seen in the lead role in the film after the release of the trailer of her upcoming film Dhaakad, says it will redefine the action genre for Indian cinema.

The event saw Kangana’s entry in a helicopter at Mahalaxmi Racecourse Ground, after which the actress headed straight for PVR Icon, Phoenix Mall in Lower Parel.

It has been a long-standing dream of mine to play challenging roles and be a part of inspirational films. Dhaakad is one such film. I really enjoyed playing the role of Agent Agni. We have worked very hard to make the film something different than what we had imagined.

The film is directed by Rajneesh Ghai, also starring Arjun Rampal, Divya Dutta, Shashwat Chatterjee.

Director Rajneesh Ghai said, “Dhaakad being my first film will always be close to my heart. Kangana is a fresh thinking action hero. He has executed all the choreographed action sequences with perfection. It is a pleasure to work with him and to see him play this role with ease.

Arjun Rampal is seen in a very unique avatar in the film.

Producer Deepak Mukut said, “The theme of the film is very close to my heart and I wanted to make sure that the action thriller has an important message at its core.

Dhaakad will release in cinemas on May 20.
