Los Angeles: Canadian-Indian digital content creator and reality television star Lilly Singh has been at the forefront of the digital boom. They relaunched their Unicorn Island productions in 2018 after bringing great content to YouTube, as well as inked a unique first-look global scripted and second-look unscripted deal with Blink49 Studios and Bell Media.

As part of the deal, Singh and Unicorn’s Head of Development, Poly Orit, will focus on creating and creating television content featuring underrepresented communities.

According to Variety, projects created under the agreement will be executive produced by Singh and Aurit, along with Carolyn Newman, executive VP of global scripting at Bell Media, and Virginia Rankin, executive producer of Blink49 Studios.

Variety further reports that Singh, also known by her YouTube name Superwoman and has over 38 million followers on her social media platform, is set to star in Disney Plus’ The Muppets mayhem.

The artist is also a New York Times best-selling author and runs the book club Lilies Library, which highlights South Asian stories.

VP of Content Development and Programming at Bell Media Justin Stockman said, Lily is a prodigious creative talent and the team at Polly and Unicorn Island Productions with a different approach that is very appealing to audiences.
