Mumbai: Actor and Pro Panja League (PPL) owner Parveen Dabas has tied up with Indian Arm Wrestling Federation with an aim to lift arm wrestling from the grassroots level and make it respected like any other Indian sport.
Parveen and Preeti Jhangiani were recently felicitated as the special guests of the event, where Telangana Sports Minister V Srinivasa Goud was also present at the event held at Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Parveen said, Pro Panja League (PPL) has collaborated with Indian Arm Wrestling Federation, which has been organizing amateur wrestling competitions for years. It is our sincere desire to take up and achieve arm wrestling from the grassroots level. This is the same respect that other sports get in India.
We are working at the grassroots level to promote and support arm wrestling. Once we conceptualized the idea of holding competitions and championships, we set our mind to make it one of the most sought after sports and there has been no stopping us since then.
The PPL has had four major events so far and the next event on the calendar is the Sheru Classic in Delhi from 17-19 June 2022 and then the massive Pro Panja League Ranking Tournament to be held in Gwalior from 22-24 July with a massive crowd of 1,000 athletes. Will see.
